Support for combined transport in Portugal is covered by the Operational Programme Accessibility and Transport which provides the framework for infrastructure investments co-financed by the EU in the period 2007-2013.
At present, no specific national funding programmes for the inland waterway transport (IWT) sector are available in Portugal, as transport on waterways is almost exclusively of a river-sea nature.
