Funding at a glance
The Lithuanian government allocates annual funding for the maintenance and supervision of the country's inland waterways from the national budget. Additionally, infrastructure financing is also available through state investment programs and financial support by the European Regional Development Fund. The creation of Lithuanian River Information Services (RIS) and their integration into the harmonised European RIS system is foreseen.
At present, no specific national funding programmes for the inland waterway transport (IWT) sector are available in Lithuania.
