In Finland funding for maritime navigation and inland navigation is applied along the same transport policy strategy. Most of the national infrastructure investments for the maintenance and development of Finland's waterways are devoted to the maritime sector.
At present, no specific national funding programmes for the inland waterway transport (IWT) sector are available in Finland.
